Ilmansuojeluyhdistys 50 vuotta – Juhlavuoden seminaarisarja 2026
Ilmansuojeluyhdistys täyttää tänä vuonna 50 vuotta. Juhlavuoden kunniaksi järjestämme koko vuoden mittaisen, eri puolille Suomea sijoittuvan seminaarisarjan, joka tuo yhteen tutkijat, asiantuntijat, opiskelijat sekä ilmanlaadun ja ilmansuojelun tulevaisuudesta kiinnostuneet.
Juhlavuoden teemoina ovat
- pienpolton päästöt
- ilmastonmuutoksen uudet näkökulmat
- alan opiskelijayhteisön vahvistaminen
- syksyn päätapahtuma: juhlaseminaari ja vuosijuhla Helsingissä
Tervetuloa mukaan rakentamaan seuraavaa 50 vuotta suomalaisen ilmansuojelutyön historiaa.
24.9.2026 – Ilmansuojelualan opiskelijoiden verkostoitumispäivä
Paidia, Nokia Arena, Tampere
Syksyn opiskelijatapahtuma kokoaa yhteen ympäristö- ja ilmansuojelualan opiskelijat kaikilta koulutusasteilta. Päivän aikana tarjolla on asiantuntijaluentoja, keskusteluja urapoluista, työelämätietoa sekä mahdollisuus verkostoitua rennossa ympäristössä.
Welcome to the Networking Day for Future Air Quality and Climate Experts! The event will take place at the Paidia facilities of Tampere University at Nokia Arena (Kansikatu 3) in Tampere on 24 September. The event is for Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD students. In addition to the career stories, first 50 students signed up for the event will have an opportunity to give a three-minute speech to briefly introduce themselves and their work/studies. The event is free-of-charge as a part of the 50th anniversary seminar series of FAAP (ISY in Finnish). Also lunch, coffee and snacks are free-of-charge, sponsored by Dekati and SmartMe.

Career stories are heard from:
Mikko Moisio, DSc, is the Founder and CEO of Dekati Ltd., a company specializing in advanced aerosol measurement technologies. His career began in aerosol research developing new measurement techniques. Since then, in addition to founding and leading Dekati, he has held key expert roles at TEKES (currently Business Finland) and TUKES (Finnish Safety and Chemicals Agency). His career presents a unique path from research scientist to a leader of a high-tech startup company.
Hanna Manninen, PhD, is a Head of Unit at HSY (Helsinki Region Environmental Services Authority), leading air quality monitoring and expert work to support evidence-based decision-making in the public sector. She has an extensive international research background, including coordinating atmospheric science experiment at CERN and leading a research team at the University of Helsinki. Her work bridges scientific excellence and public-sector impact, focusing on translating environmental data into effective policies and actions.
Juha Heikkilä, DSc, is an engineer with a career spanning research and large industrial corporations. He started in aerosol science, completing his PhD on diesel particle emissions, and moved to Wärtsilä to work on emission measurement technologies and related research. He later joined AGCO Power, where he has worked on exhaust aftertreatment systems and now leads the development of battery technologies and electrification solutions. His career reflects a journey from fundamental science to applied engineering in the transition to cleaner energy.
Information about the presentations of students:
The first 50 students signing up to the event have the opportunity to introduce themselves and their work/studies by giving a 3-minute speech. One PowerPoint (pptx) slide can be prepared for the presentation, and it has to be sent to the organizers before the event. More detailed instructions are sent to the presenters closer to the event. This is an excellent opportunity to present yourself and also to get to know other students from our field.

8.10.2026 – 50‑vuotisjuhlaseminaari ja vuosijuhla, Helsinki
Juhlavuosi huipentuu syksyllä järjestettävään juhlaseminaariin ja 50‑vuotisjuhlaan Helsingissä. Päivän aikana kuullaan katsauksia ilmansuojelutyön historiaan, nykytilaan ja tulevaisuuden haasteisiin. Ilta jatkuu juhlavassa tunnelmassa yhdessä jäsenistön ja yhteistyökumppaneiden kanssa.

Huhtikuun seminaari tarkastelee ilmastokysymystä hieman erilaisista näkökulmista: mikä ratkaisuja suomalainen teknologia tarjoaa, kannattaako rannalle enää rakentaa, minne metsämme menevät, mistä ilmastoskeptisismi kumpuaa unohtamatta saamelaisten ja nuoremman sukupolven näkemyksiä.
